Complex Fracture Closure Pressure Analysis During Shut-in: A Numerical Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Conventional fracture closure models typically assume homogeneous formation. This assumption renders complex pressure analysis during shut-in insufficient at present. In this paper, we use a cohesive zone method (CZM)-based finite element model to obtain the and minimum horizontal principal stress of major branch based on fall-off analysis. Key factors including leak-off rate, injection time, anisotropy are discussed in detail. A quantitative relationship between these is plotted reduce or eliminate errors caused by conventional diagnostic models. The results show that have significant effect process. Fracture naturally fractured formations slow process, early represents fracture, which much higher than stress. investigation provides new insight into how estimate in-situ reservoirs.

Fracture Analysis of Externally Semi-Elliptical Crack in a Spherical Pressure Vessel with Hoop-Wrapped Composite
In this paper the effect of composite hoop-wrapped on stress intensity factor for semi-elliptical external crack which located in spherical pressure vessel, were investigated through the Finite Element Analysis. In order to find the effect of some parameters such as composite thickness and width, internal pressure and crack geometry, comparisons between different cases were done and discussed i...

there is no doubt that human being needs to become integrated with industry and industry needs to be progressed, daily. on the other hand, serious events in industrial units specially in oil industries has been shown that such damages and events are industry related ones. the consequence of such events and damages which resulted in chemical and poisoned explosions and loss of life and property ...
New Insight on Deformation of Walnut/Ceramic Proppant Pack under Closure Stress in Hydraulic Fracture: Numerical Investigation
This study is an attempt to investigate the mechanical behavior of proppant packs deforming under compression loading. A generalized confined compression test (CCT) was simulated in the present study to investigate the deformation of walnut/ceramic proppants against compression. In this way, the CCT was simulated using ABAQUS explicit code. Unlike ordinary CCT, we obtained permeability of compr...
متن کاملOff-label closure during CLOSURE study.
BACKGROUND The role of percutaneous closure of patent foramen ovale (PFO) in patients with cryptogenic stroke or transient ischemic attack remains controversial. Registry data have suggested considerable benefit of closure over medical therapy, but the prospective, randomized CLOSURE I trial found no benefit for device closure. METHODS We compared patients enrolled into CLOSURE I to off-label...
متن کاملNumerical Study on Crack Propagation in Brittle Jointed Rock Mass Influenced by Fracture Water Pressure
The initiation, propagation, coalescence and failure mode of brittle jointed rock mass influenced by fissure water pressure have always been studied as a hot issue in the society of rock mechanics and engineering. In order to analyze the damage evolution process of jointed rock mass under fracture water pressure, a novel numerical model on the basis of secondary development in fast Lagrangian a...
